How to become a JioMart seller

6 steps. End-to-end 5–7 business days including KYC verification and first-catalog QC.

    Step 01

    Go to partner.jiomart.com

Click 'Register as a seller'. JioMart onboards both grocery/FMCG sellers and non-grocery categories (fashion, electronics, home) under a single seller ID.

    Step 02

    Enter business details + GSTIN

Provide business PAN, GSTIN, address, category and product range. Composition-scheme GSTINs are accepted for select categories.

    Step 03

    Upload KYC + bank documents

PAN + GST cert + cancelled cheque or bank verification letter. JioMart validates via UIDAI/GSTN — typically within 3–5 business days.

    Step 04

    Sign the JioMart Seller Agreement

Digital signature via Aadhaar e-Sign. The agreement covers commission rates, SLAs, RTO liability and payment cycle (T+7 for most categories).

    Step 05

    List your first products

Use JioMart's Catalog Uploader (bulk XLS) or list one-by-one via Seller Panel → Catalog. Products go through 24–48h QC before going live.

    Step 06

    Choose fulfilment model

Self-Ship (you dispatch via Delhivery/Bluedart) or JioMart Fulfilment (JMF — stock at JioMart FCs, JioMart ships). JMF adds ~8–12% fees but unlocks the 'JioMart Fulfilled' badge and higher Buy Box share.

    Troubleshooting

    Fixing common JioMart seller issues

    Registration stuck at KYC verification

Fix: Confirm your GSTIN is 'Active' on gst.gov.in and the legal name matches PAN exactly. Bank IFSC + account number must be in the same legal entity. Raise a ticket at partner.jiomart.com → Support if stuck beyond 5 business days.

    Products rejected in catalog QC

Fix: Most rejections are for image quality (need pure white background, 1000×1000 px min), missing HSN codes, or restricted-category items without licences. Review the QC rejection reason in Catalog → Rejected and resubmit corrected files.

Low order volumes despite being live

Fix: Enable JMads (JioMart's Sponsored Products), participate in JioMart Deals, and consider migrating top SKUs to JMF for the 'JioMart Fulfilled' badge — Buy Box share can 2–3x with JMF.

    Payment reconciliation mismatch

Fix: Download the Settlement Report from Payments → Reports and match against your GST portal. Common mismatch drivers: TCS (1%), TDS (0.1%), and category-level commission tiers. Raise a payment ticket within 30 days.

    JioMart Seller — FAQs

    How do I become a JioMart seller?+

Visit partner.jiomart.com → Register as a Seller → enter business details, GSTIN and PAN → upload KYC + bank documents → sign the seller agreement via Aadhaar e-Sign → list your first products. JioMart's QC clears listings within 24–48 hours after documents are verified (typically 3–5 business days for KYC).

What documents are required to sell on JioMart?+

You need: (1) Active GSTIN certificate, (2) PAN card (business or proprietor), (3) cancelled cheque or bank verification letter matching the legal entity, (4) product images (1000×1000 px, white background), (5) category-specific licences where applicable (FSSAI for food, drug licence for pharma, BIS for electronics).

What is JioMart commission for sellers?+

JioMart commission varies by category — grocery/FMCG 3–8%, fashion 12–20%, electronics 5–12%, home 8–15%, beauty 10–15%. Full rate cards are visible inside the Seller Panel after login. JioMart's blended commission is typically lower than Amazon and Flipkart in most categories.

Is JioMart good for sellers in India?+

JioMart offers 180M+ Jio user base, faster T+7 payments, and lower commission than Amazon/Flipkart in most categories — strong for grocery/FMCG, personal care, home and small appliances. It's less competitive in fashion + electronics where Amazon and Flipkart dominate. Best used as a complementary marketplace, not sole channel.

    What is JioMart Fulfilment (JMF)?+

JMF is JioMart's FBA equivalent — sellers ship inventory to JioMart fulfilment centres and JioMart handles storage, picking, packing and delivery. Adds ~8–12% fees on top of commission but unlocks the 'JioMart Fulfilled' badge, higher Buy Box share, and 1–2 day delivery in metros.

How long does JioMart take to pay sellers?+

JioMart pays on a T+7 cycle — settlements are transferred to the seller's registered bank account 7 days after order delivery confirmation. TCS (1%) and TDS (0.1%) are deducted at source. Full settlement reports are downloadable from the Seller Panel → Payments → Reports.

Can I sell on JioMart without GST?+

No. A valid, active GSTIN is mandatory for JioMart seller registration — this is a regulatory requirement for e-commerce marketplaces under Indian GST law (Section 24 of the CGST Act). Composition-scheme GSTINs are accepted for select categories but not for interstate supply.

JioMart vs Amazon vs Flipkart — which marketplace is best?+

For grocery, FMCG and home essentials, JioMart is highly competitive with lower commission and faster payments. For fashion and electronics, Amazon and Flipkart still have deeper buyer intent and larger catalogs. Best practice — list on all three; use JioMart for its FMCG/grocery strength and 180M Jio user cross-promo.
