    Is GeM portal registration free?

    Yes — GeM registration is 100% free for sellers and service providers. There is no signup fee, annual fee, or membership charge on gem.gov.in.

    What are GeM transaction charges in 2026?

    GeM charges a transaction fee on orders above ₹10 Lakh: 0.5% of order value (capped at ₹72.50 Lakh per order). Orders up to ₹10 Lakh are free of transaction charges.

    Is there a caution money deposit on GeM?

    Yes. New sellers must deposit Caution Money based on past turnover: ₹5,000 (turnover < ₹1 Cr), ₹10,000 (₹1–10 Cr) or ₹25,000 (> ₹10 Cr). It is refundable and one-time.

    Do MSMEs pay any fees on GeM?

    MSMEs registered on Udyam are exempt from EMD (Earnest Money Deposit) and Tender Document fees on all GeM bids. Transaction charges still apply above ₹10 Lakh order value.

    What is the GeM ITR threshold for caution money?

    Caution money is calculated on the latest filed ITR turnover. Sellers without ITR pay the minimum ₹5,000 slab until ITR is uploaded.
